Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has urged Nigerians to shun inflammatory remarks and divisive tendencies for the sustainable peace, unity and development of the nation.
Governor Oborevwori stated this at a special interdenominational thanksgiving mass in commemoration of the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration in Asaba
The Delta State Governor represented by the State Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, said Nigerians owed it a duty to the fallen heroes and the nation to emulate their examples of sacrifice and commitment, and pursue the path of peace, unity, and justice.
He stressed the need for Nigerians to pray for global peace at this time, especially for the peaceful resolution of the Israel-Palestinian and the Russia-Ukraine wars.
Governor Oborevwori reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to supporting the legionnaires to improve their wellbeing.
On his part, the Rector of Saint Joseph Pro Cathedral, Asaba, Monsignor John Aduba, in a sermon, thanked the serving, retired and fallen soldiers for their selfless service to the nation and reminded all of the need to give special attention to the needs of the families of fallen heroes.
