A member of the House of Representatives representing Bungudu and Maru Federal Constituency in Zamfara State, Abdulmalik Zubairu has empowered 3,290 small scale traders and skilled persons to enhance their businesses and contribute to the economic growth of the state.
Speaking at the launching of the empowerment support in Bungudu local government, Abdulmalik Zubairu said the gesture was a significant move in supporting small scale businesses in his constituency.
He explained that, the initiative aligns with the importance of skills and businesses in reducing unemployment rates and promoting economic development.
Alhaji Zubairu who is also known as Zanna Bungudu assured that, such gesture would be a continue process.
“The beneficiaries were selected from the twenty one political wards of the two local governments and each beneficiary has received cash and empowerment tools”
The lawmaker who extended his condolence to the people of Maru local government over the recent bandits attacks, also alleged that Maru town has been attacked by bandits sixty times in two years.
According to him, he has visited the area several times for the purpose of condolences.
He alleged that, the authority that supposed to provide care has not been doing the needful, revealing that, several people were abducted in the recent attack.
Alhaji Zubairu urged the beneficiaries of the empowerment tools to use it judiciously as they can unlock new opportunities for themselves and their communities.
Similarly the lawmaker has also presented sponsorship to over one hundred under less privileged students from Maru and Bungudu local governments to various tertiary institutions .
In a remark, the Minister of State for Defence, Mohammed Bello Matawalle revealed that, the gesture demonstrated Abdulmalik’s commitment to the well-being and prosperity of his community, and his dedication to creating opportunities for economic development.
The Minister represented by the Former Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Hassan Nasiha noted that, the empowerment by the lawmaker was not only supporting the development of his constituents but also contributing to the overall growth of the State’s economy.
Ealier, the Chairman of APC in Zamfara State, Tukur Danfulani Maikatako pointed out that, Zubairu’s support for small businesses was a testament to his dedication to the well-being of his constituents and it had a positive impact on the community, fostering entrepreneurship, job creation, and economic prosperity.
Other participants, stressed that, the empowerment would significantly play a crucial role in eradicating extreme poverty and hunger as well as creating avenues for employment and wealth creation.
