The Forum of State Chairmen of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, says there is no crisis in the party.
This is contained in a Communiqué released by the Chairman of the forum Femi Ferrari Olaniyi after a meeting attended by 28 out of 37 members of the forum in Abuja.
The communique, affirms that SDP stands united at all tiers and levels throughout the federation and remains a focused and disciplined party.
According to the communique, the forum stands with the National Working Committee (NWC) in its operations and is ready to work with the Apex Organ to stabilise and strengthen the Party at all times.
It restates that SDP is open to political party coalition and collaborations with individuals and groups desirous of joining the Party with mindsets on total integration for strengthening the party towards winning elections at the State and Federal levels in the 2027 general elections.
The Forum commends all relevant electoral bodies, including INEC and IPAC and law enforcement agencies for their cooperation with the Party and cautions them against any undue interferences which may be inimical to the internal democracy and autonomy of SDP.
It strongly affirms the will of the generality of the SDP that organs and institutions of the Party must work together in accordance with the SDP Constitution, the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and urges the public, groups, societies, associations and agencies including INEC to respect this.
It asserts that the patriotic and united spirit at the meeting have made the Forum more resolved and determined to serve the Party and enjoins the National Working Committee (NWC) of SDP to convene a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting urgently to deliberate on important issues of the party.
