The Social Democratic Party, SDP, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Mama Margaret Omugbe, mother-in-law of its 2023 presidential candidate, Prince Adewole Adebayo.
In a condolence message issued in Abuja, the Acting National Chairman of the Party, Dr. Sadiq Umar Abubakar Gombe, extended the sympathies of the National Working Committee and members of the party across the country to the Adebayo and Omugbe families.
According to a statement signed by the SDP National Publicity Secretary, Araba Rufus Aiyenigba, the party described Mama Margaret Omugbe as a devout Christian, community leader, and humanitarian who dedicated her life to serving others through acts of love and compassion.
The statement noted that Mama Omugbe would be fondly remembered for her impactful life and for raising accomplished children, including Queen Lilian Adebayo wife of Prince Adewole Adebayo and a prominent Nigerian philanthropist.
The SDP prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul and for divine comfort for the bereaved family, urging them to find strength in the legacy of goodness she left behind.
