The Social Democratic Party, SDP, says plans are ongoing to stabilize the party following the recent crises that rocked the party.
Acting National Chairman of the party, Prof. Sadiq Umar Abubakar, stated this during a stakeholders forum with the National Working Committee, NEC, in Abuja.
Prof. Abubakar explained that the essence of the meeting was to deliberate on proffering a solution to the internal crisis of the party and chart a positive course towards the 2027 elections and beyond.
The Acting National Chairman, who acknowledged the challenging time faced by the party emphasized that this period is an opportunity for growth and reflection on the party’s affairs, priorities, and objectives.

Abubakar expressed the party’s vision to provide Nigeria with a credible platform built on honesty and sincerity to address national challenges.
Earlier, in her welcome address, the National Women Leader of the party, Hajia Sa’adatu Abdullahi, highlighted the importance of engaging with stakeholders to address internal challenges within the party.
She stressed the need for collaboration with stakeholders to resolve the party’s challenges and move forward.
“The stakeholders meeting was called to address the issues within the party and find lasting solutions. The leaders of SDP recognized the importance of involving the party members in decision-making and charting a successful path for the party’s future” Hajia Abdullahi stated.

“Our efforts are aimed at fostering unity, addressing internal conflicts, and building a stronger foundation for the party. With collaboration, we will overcome the challenges and emerge as a credible alternative for the upcoming election.” She said
