Senator Abdulaziz Yari, the former Governor of Zamfara State and current Senator representing Zamfara West, has approved the distribution of 746 trucks of assorted food items to residents of the state as part of his 2026 Ramadan welfare package.
This is contained in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the Publicity Committee, Ibrahim Muhammad and the Chairman of Senator Yari’s State Distribution Committee, Dr. Lawal M. Liman.
The statement reveals that 628 trucks of food items will be distributed across Zamfara, irrespective of political affiliation, while 118 trucks of rice will be allocated to Polling Unit Committees through the Zamfara State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to the statement, each of the 14 Local Government Areas in the state will receive 45 trucks of assorted food items, benefiting a total of 315,000 people.
The distribution will begin before the start of the 2026 Ramadan fast.
It urges all involved to follow strict guidelines to ensure transparency and fairness throughout the distribution process, emphasizing that this gesture reflects Senator Yari’s commitment to alleviating hardship and supporting vulnerable residents during the holy month of Ramadan.
