A prominent figure of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Phillip Aduda, has resigned from the party, attributing his decision to the lingering internal crisis.
In a resignation letter dated March 17, 2026, and addressed to the PDP Chairman of Karu Ward, Abuja, Aduda stated that his exit takes immediate effect. He, however, expressed gratitude to the party for the opportunities it afforded him throughout his political career, noting that he was privileged to serve in several elective capacities.
Aduda represented the Federal Capital Territory in the Senate during the 7th, 8th, and 9th National Assemblies between 2011 and 2023, establishing himself as one of the PDP’s notable political actors in the territory.
As of the time of filing this report, the PDP leadership has not released an official statement regarding his resignation.
