The Vice President, Kashim Shettima, says reforms being implemented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration are gradually restoring international confidence in Nigeria.
He made the remark in Abuja at the inaugural convocation of the Professionals’ Certification Programme for certified procurement officers, noting that the participation of foreign professionals reflects growing global trust in Nigeria’s reform efforts.
Represented by the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Senator Ibrahim Hadejia, Shettima described the graduation of over two thousand certified procurement professionals as a major milestone under the Renewed Hope Agenda, highlighting procurement reforms as vital for transparency and effective public resource management.
The Director General of the Bureau of Public Procurement, Dr Adebowale Adedokun, announced that President Tinubu has approved the deployment of community-based procurement officers nationwide.

Speaking at the event, the World Bank’s Chief Procurement Officer, Ms Hiba Tahboub, urged other African countries to emulate Nigeria’s procurement certification model.
