Three Children of same parents have been allegedly found dead in a deep freezer at Nnewichi in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The situation threw the entire town into deep mourning as they described it as gruesọme and mụrder by yet-to-be-identified assailants.
The bodies of the three lifeless siblings were found inside a deep freezer at their residence.
The deceased children, identified as Chikaima aged 9, Chimziterem aged 7 and Chimdilim five years were said to be allegedly attācked by unknown assailants while their mother, Mrs. Chikazor Ejezie, who is said to be both a lecturer and nurse, was away for an examination.
It was gathered that Mrs. Ejezie returned home to meet the door of the house wide open, which was unusual as her children always locked it whenever they went out or were left home alone.
Upon entering the house, the children were nowhere to be found, prompting her to go searching for them.
Narrating the incident, the father of the children, Mr Udobi Ejezie who is based in Irrua, Edo State, said he was contacted by his wife shortly after the tragedy struck.
He said that after his wife and other search party looked around for the kids without success in despair, the deep freezer was opened and behold, the deād bodies were there.
He recounted that the house where they live is a bungalow with two tenants and the landlord, noting that the kids were eating when the assailants stormed the house at about noon, as there were traces of food in plates that were like forcefully abandoned.
It was gathered that the cọrpses of the children had been deposited at a morgue, while the incident was reported at the Central Police Station in Nnewi.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident and further revealed that the State Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Itam, had ordered a full-scale investigation on the tragedy.
He noted that the bodies had been recovered, and the Commissioner of Police has ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for thorough investigation.
