Over three hundred billion naira has been spent on infrastructures in satellite towns across the six Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory.
Minister of FCT, Mr Nyesom Wike made this known in Abuja during the official commissioning of 9 kilometers Paikon- Kore- Ibwa road in Gwagwalada Abuja.
Wike explained that the Paikon- Kore road project which started in January last year gulped #8.5bn while #22bn has been earnmarked for the Aguma Palace road that will be commissioned in May this year and #16.5bn allocated for the ongoing renovation of 5 schools in Gwagwalada area council.
He listed the benefiting schools to include School for the Gifted, GSS Gwagwalada, GSS in Anagada community, GSS Tungamaje and GSS Giri stating that the gesture was part of measures to further develop the satellite towns
The Minister promised to construct an additional bridge in Gwagwalada as requested by the Vice Chairman of the Council.
Some residents of the community expressed gratitude to the FCT Administrstion for the project
Earlier, the chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council Abubakar Giri, who was represented by the Vice Chairman, Saidu Zuba said the road project had further open up development in the area and stemmed the tide of insecurity.
