President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians, particularly Christian and Muslim faithful, to uphold peace, unity, and good neighbourliness as Lent and Ramadan begin.
In a special message issued in Abuja, the President highlighted that the two observances coinciding this year serve as a reminder of shared values and common faith among Nigerians.
He described Lent as a season of fasting, abstinence, and penitence following the example of Jesus Christ, while Ramadan emphasises sacrifice, devotion, communal love, and service.
Tinubu called on citizens to reflect deeply on the teachings of their respective faiths, live honourably, and pray for the nation’s progress, stability, and security.
He wished that the lessons and blessings of the sacred seasons would remain with Nigerians throughout the year.
