Vice President Kashim Shettima says the technological skills of Nigerian youths must be fully harnessed to drive the country to economic transformation.
The Vice President stated this at the National Policy and Strategic Studies Studies, NIPSS Kuru during the graduation of the participants of Senior Executive Course 46 held at the institute.
Vice President Shettima who noted that it was the priority of the Federal government to reposition the country’s digital economy through various initiatives, stressed the need to invest in the youth who constitute over sixty percent of the population to achieve economic transformation.
He explained that policies were being implemented to enhance vocational and technical education, boost Agriculture as well as equip Young Nigerians with skills in technology, construction and creative industries.
Vice President Shettima Assured of Federal Government commitment to provide the needed support to the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru to effectively carry out it’s mandate and provide Strategic policy direction for National growth.
The Vice President commended the government of Plateau state and the people for the relative peace currently being enjoyed and called on citizens to tolerate and embrace one another for the purpose of growth.
Earlier, Plateau state Governor Caleb Mutfwang while congratulating the participants of the senior executive course 46 for successfully completing thier course, urged them to use the knowledge and skills acquired to contribute to national development.
The Director General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS Kuru, Professor Ayo Omotayo in his address reiterated commitment to continue to provide policy recommendations that will drive the country’s development and noted that the institute has over the years enhance it’s training program to reflect evolving challenges and opportunities that will ensure growth
In a valedictory speech, the Monitor General of course 46, lieutenant Colonel Muhammed Bala said as their contribution, the participants of the senior executive course have constructed eye and dental clinic to serve participants, staff as well as members of the kuru community.
The theme for the senior course 46 is Digital Economy, Youth Empowerment and Sustainable Job Creation in Nigeria: Issues, Challenges and Opportunities.
