Former Chief of Staff to the Imo State Government, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, has described grassroots-focused empowerment initiatives as a practical pathway to community development.
Nwosu gave the commendation in Obingwa, Abia State, during a civic reception and empowerment programme organised by the member representing Obingwa West State Constituency, Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr.

He described the empowerment programme as a clear demonstration of leadership that delivers tangible benefits to the people, stressing that true governance is measured by visible improvements in citizens’ lives.
The former Chief of Staff noted that strategic collaboration and alignment with broader political structures could further enhance development efforts and attract greater opportunities to the constituency.

Beneficiaries say the intervention is expected to boost small-scale businesses, improve healthcare support and strengthen economic activities within the area.
The event witnessed the distribution of vehicles, motorcycles, dialysis machines, medical equipment, laptops, business support tools and financial assistance to beneficiaries.

Dignitaries at the occasion included former Governor of Abia State and Ambassador-designate, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu; former Deputy Governor of Abia State, Dr. Chris Akomas; Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa; lawmakers and other political stakeholders.
Traditional rulers, youth and women groups, as well as residents of the constituency, attended the event, which was marked by a large turnout and celebration.
