Vice President Kashim Shettima will preside over the upcoming National Economic Council (NEC) Conference on February 9 and 10, 2026, in Abuja, aimed at driving inclusive growth and strengthening economic coordination across Nigeria.
The two-day summit, which will take place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, is designed to set a unified policy direction for states in alignment with the country’s long-term development goals.
It will bring together governors from all 36 states, key national stakeholders, development partners, and private-sector leaders.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to attend the conference as Special Guest of Honour, highlighting the event’s significance under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The conference will address critical issues such as fiscal coordination, investment mobilisation, and collaborative efforts to achieve shared development priorities.
Dr. Deborah Oko Odo, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, stated that the summit will focus on macroeconomic challenges and formulate actionable strategies for sustainable growth nationwide.
The outcomes of the conference are expected to boost economic governance and accelerate development in all parts of Nigeria.
The theme of the summit, “Delivering Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development: The Renewed Hope National Development Plan,” will focus on aligning federal and state economic strategies to promote broad-based development across the nation.
