Vice President Kashim Shettima has urged Nigerians to embrace tolerance and live peacefully, noting that the country can achieve greatness if citizens work together in harmony.
The Vice President made the remarks in Jos, Plateau State, while paying homage to the Gbong Gwom Jos and Chairman of the Plateau State Council of Chiefs and Emirs, His Royal Highness Jacob Gyang Buba.
He emphasized that Nigerians share a common heritage and that unity is stronger than any force that seeks to divide the nation.

VP Shettima described traditional rulers as respected custodians of culture, who play vital roles in promoting peace and stability within their communities.
He also commended the growing cordial relationship between Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang and APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, describing the political realignment as a positive development for the state.

In his remarks, the Gbong Gwom Jos, Jacob Gyang Buba, called for increased security efforts, genuine reconciliation, and mutual respect among Nigerians regardless of religion.
He welcomed the political realignment, describing it as a good sign for Plateau State and the nation.
The Vice President was accompanied by APC National Chairman Professor Nantawe Yilwatda, Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, former Deputy Speaker Idris Wase, members of the Plateau State Council of Chiefs and Emirs, and other prominent leaders.

The visit highlighted the importance of unity, dialogue, and collaboration between political leaders and traditional institutions in promoting peace and national development.
