In a bid to accelerate development at the grassroots level, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has initiated various projects aimed at stimulating the local economy.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Mohammed Tajo Othman, stated this during a media parley in Kano.
He said these projects will not only improve the infrastructure but also create jobs and increase economic activities in the local government areas.
The Commissioner explained that the projects include the construction of five-kilometer roads in local government areas, which is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of residents
Othman noted that the current administration is committed to ensuring that the lives of people at the grassroots level are improved.
In a recent development, Othman returned the sum of N100 million to the government coffers, which was earmarked for the provisions of uniforms but after providing the required numbers and realized that there was surplus, he returned the excess to government coffers.
This act, he said, is a testament to the transparency exhibited by the Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf administration.
He added that these initiatives demonstrate Governor Yusuf’s commitment to developing Kano State and improving the lives of its residents.
