The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has made a scathing attack on political figures he accuses of supporting acts of disloyalty, particularly targeting his estranged godson, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, and his supporters.
Speaking during the commissioning of the Rivers State chapter of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors headquarters in Port Harcourt, Wike issued a stern warning, declaring that individuals supporting betrayal would face divine punishment, including repeated acts of treachery and sudden death.
Wike, without naming specific individuals, condemned senators, ministers, governors, and other political figures he believes are enabling betrayal within the political landscape.
He ominously proclaimed, “Betrayal is your portion,” stressing that those who support such actions would eventually face betrayal themselves.
He further warned that governors supporting betrayal would not survive it and would face political downfall.
The remarks come amidst escalating tensions in Rivers State, where Wike has been embroiled in a political rift with Governor Fubara, accusing him of disloyalty.
Wike’s words also served as a rallying cry for his loyal supporters, reinforcing his influence within the political sphere as the state braces for the 2027 general elections.
The event, organized by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, a group supporting President Bola Tinubu’s administration, allowed Wike to further consolidate his position and make his political stance clear.
