The Zamfara State Government has started the payment of outstanding gratuity arrears to retired civil servants, covering the period from January 2024 to September 2025.
This follows a directive from Governor Dr. Dauda Lawal as part of efforts to improve public service welfare and rebuild trust in the government.
The payment process, disclosed by the State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Muhammad Dantawasa, marks the beginning of Batch II of the arrears settlement, with funds expected to be disbursed shortly.
Governor Lawal emphasized that the payment is a key part of his administration’s Rescue Mission Agenda, focusing on workers’ welfare, fiscal responsibility, and social justice.
He also assured retirees that no favoritism would be shown in the payment process and that all verified and eligible beneficiaries would be paid without discrimination.
The government reassured retirees that additional payments would be made in subsequent batches, in line with available resources, reaffirming its commitment to fulfilling all obligations under the Rescue Mission Agenda for the benefit of the people of Zamfara State.
