Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has urged members of the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream Il National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to dedicate themselves to the progress and development of the state and the nation.
Speaking during the official swearing-in ceremony of the NYSC members at the Permanent Orientation Camp in Kusalla Dam, Karaye Local Government Area, Governor Yusuf emphasized the importance of discipline, leadership, self-reliance, and skills in becoming great future leaders.
“I welcome you all to the larger Nigerian society where you will gradually begin to make your individual and collective contributions toward national growth and development.”
The governor who was represented by the permanent secretary cabinet office Hajiya Aisha Kailani commended the NYSC management for their dedication and commitment to the scheme and assured the corps members of his administration’s support and encouragement throughout their service year.
In her introductory speech, the State Coordinator, Hajia Halima Abubakar, welcomed the corps members and expressed gratitude to Governor Yusuf for his remarkable support to the NYSC scheme.
“In the past 53 years, the NYSC has remained a beacon of hope in the country’s mission for a united and peaceful nation. It has exposed millions of graduate youth corps members to the diverse traditions and cultures of our different communities, while impacting positively on the progress and development of our dear country.”
The swearing-in ceremony marked the beginning of the orientation course for the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream Il NYSC members deployed to Kano State.
