Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Professor Joseph Terlumun Utsev stated this when the Executive Secretary, National Sugar Development Council, Mr Kamar Bakrin led members of the council on a visit to him in Abuja.
A statement signed by the Personal Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Minister, Terhemen Oraduen says the partnership will be in the area of provision of sustainable water to sugarcane farms and factories in the country for steady production of the commodity.

The statement explains that plans were on to desilt major rivers, dams and reservoirs in the country to enable unhindered water supply to sugarcane farms and tackle perennial flooding as well as enhance the blue economy.
Earlier, the Executive Secretary National Sugar Development Council, Mr. Kamar Bakrin explained that the visit was to seek partnership with the ministry in the provision of sustainable water supply to its existing farms and factories to increase sugar production in the country and bridge the present gap in sugar production.
