The new Commissioner of police, Lagos State Command, Mr. Jimoh Moshood has assumed office.
On arrival at the command, Mr. Moshood told journalists that he had been thoroughly briefed about the nature and situation of crime related activities in the state and would work to improve and strengthen the past achievements of the command so as to reduce criminal activities in the state.
According to Mr. Moshood, his predecessors have done their best but the rate of crime in the state is not insurmountable.
“The police in Lagos will redouble their efforts and work assiduously the state government, the people and other key players in the security of the state to reduce fear and activities of criminals”
The police boss said that the command under his leadership would to ensure peace, security and protection of lives, property and investments in the state.
Mr. Moshood expressed optimism that sustaining and fostering a better synergy with other sister security agencies would help in implementing a unified strategy to reduce crime to the barest in Lagos.
“New and varies crime prevention, control and management strategies will be adopted and implemented to nip in the bud all forms of crimes, especially violent crimes and promptly detect those crimes that may occur”
“The command will be more proactive in crime fighting and prevention to detect and act and deal according to the laws with early warning signals of crimes and other threats that can snowball into disturbances of public peace and public safety or breakdown of law and order”
Mr. Moshood who warned criminals to relocate from the State as Lagos will be too hot for them from now on because It will be a no go area for criminals and their cohorts.
He advised parents and guardians to prevail on their wards and children to desist from cultism as the onslaught on cult related activities would be handled with iron hands.
He however read a riot act to his personnel never to be caught in any act of corruption or unprofessional conduct.
The new police commissioner, Mr. Moshood assured the residents that security of the Lagos water ways would be tighter under his watch.
