The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps has to end crude oil bunkering and environmental degradation experienced in some parts of Imo state.
The New State Commandant of the Corps, Mr. Basil Igwebueze gave the assurance during an interaction with Journalists in Owerri.
Mr. Igwebueze pledged that the Command under his watch would step up intelligence gathering to complement the efforts of other security agencies in fighting insecurity.
The new Commandant appealed to residents of the state to avail the command of useful information that would help to the arrest of non-state actors that were working to destabilize the south east.
Mr. Igwebueze also promised to check the activities of unregistered private security outfits operating in the area to ensure sanity in the practice.
