The Theatre Commander Joint Task Force, North West Operation Fansan Yamma, Major General Oluyinka Soyele, has reaffirmed the readiness of troops to confront the Lakurawa terrorist group along the Nigeria-Niger border.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Coordinator, Joint Media Coordination Centre Operation Fansan Yamma, Lieutenant Colonel Abubukar Abdullahi in Sokoto state.
The statement emphasizes the necessity of commitment from the troops engaged in Operation Flush Lakurawa Out.
It highlights the imperative of maintaining Nigeria’s territorial integrity, describing it as non-negotiable.
According to the statement General Soyele appeals to the local communities for their cooperation in the fight against terrorism, underscored the crucial role that local support plays in the success of military operations.
The statement urges residents to actively collaborate with security forces, stressing that, a strong partnership between the troops and the community can enhance effective operation and foster a united front against terrorism.
According to the statement the Theatre Commander stresses that intelligence sharing and community cooperation will be fundamental in effectively addressing the challenges posed by insurgency and ensuring long-term peace.
