The All Progressives Congress, APC, has strongly denied allegations by the Labour Party Presidential Candidate in the 2023 general elections, Mr. Peter Obi, that its spokesperson, Felix Morka, threatened his life.
This is contained in a statement signed the APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Felix Morka, in Abuja.
The statement describes Obi’s claim as malicious and false, accusing him of fabricating the allegation in a bid to attract public sympathy and stoke political tensions.
According to the statement, Morka says his comments referred solely to Obi’s political conduct and criticisms, not to any physical threat.
“Nothing in that statement constitutes or suggests a threat to Obi or anyone else” he stresses.
“Obi must stop misleading Nigerians with false narratives and start offering constructive criticism biased on facts”
According to the statement the APC spokesperson accuses Obi of weaponizing misinformation, claiming that Obi often incites hostility against opposing views and tolerates online harassment by his supporters.
It alleges that Obi’s followers have frequently bullied and issued threats against political opponents, including elder statesmen.
The statement calls on Obi to withdraw his accusations and issue a public apology, warning that he will explore legal options to defend his reputation if Obi failed to retract the claims.
