Federal Government says it has donated farm implements of over 5 billion naira to Jigawa state government to boost food production across the state.
The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar kyari stated this while speaking in Dabi town, Ringim local government during this year’s wheat farmers Green field Day.
He explained that, the gesture is part of the federal government’s commitment to support the state in boosting commercial agricultural production.
Senator Kyari pointed out that, the federal government is highly impressed with the commitment of the Jigawa state government and farmers for embracing wet as well as dry season farming activities.

The Minister commended the commitment of Jigawa state government and farmers for supporting the federal government’s initiative of boosting wheat cultivation through the provision of farm inputs and modern techniques.
In his speech, Governor Umar Namadi reiterated determination of the present administration in the state of introducing more policies and programs that will create job opportunities, wealth and food security.
According to him, he had already procured 300 tractors, improved seeds and other farm implements for massive cultivation of different crops across the 27 local government areas the state.
Earlier in his welcome address, the State Commissioner of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Alhaji Muttaqa Namadi explained that, the federal government has released 3,500 metric tones of certified wheat seeds and 10,000 water pumping machines to support wheat cultivation in the state.
