The Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, is set for a partnership with Information Communication Technology, ICT giant Microsoft, in the area of Skills Development on Artificial Intelligence, AI, and other areas of technological development.
This was the fallout of the courtesy visit
Director General of FRCN, Dr Mohammed Bulama, when he led a delegation of management to the Country Manager of Microsoft West Africa, Mrs Ola Williams, at her office in Ikoyi, Lagos.
Dr. Bulama noted the critical role of strategic communication in national development and that FRCN still enjoys vast listenership for that purpose, which can be enhanced through ICT innovations such as those offered by Microsoft.
Responding, Country Manager of Microsoft West Africa, Mrs Ola Williams, expressed the readiness to partner with FRCN in the area of Skills Development on AI, access to donor agencies through reports that have societal impact.
Mrs. Williams further promised to make available the curriculum of Microsoft to FRCN National Broadcast Academy and the formation of a technical team to address the technical challenges of the corporation.
The delegation of the DG FRCN included Director Special Duties, Mr. Yinusa Tanko, Director National Broadcast Academy, Mr. Danladi Kwache, Director Lagos Operations, Mrs. Bolanle Owoyemi, Director Engineering Services, Mr Askira Sanda, General Manager Bond FM, Princess Adenike Adegoke and ICT Consultant to FRCN, Dr Celestine Achi.
