Osun state government has expressed his committment to providing necessary support for the veterans and the Armed Forces.
Governor Ademola Adeleke gave the assurance during the launching of appeal fund and emblem decoration in commemoration of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
The Governor represented by the Deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi noted that the event symbolizes the depth of national gratitude to the service personnel who engage in the most fatal of all national services, in the defence of the territorial integrity of the Nation and maintenance of internal cohesion.
While assuring regular interface with Veterans, Governor Adeleke lauded the courage, gallantry and self immolation of officers and men of the military.
He recalled the many members of the armed forces who were wounded and incapacitated in the course of national duty.
Earlier in his address, the Legion chairman in osun state, Mr. Peter Oladipo expressed gratitude to Governor Ademola Adeleke on various policies targeted towards improving the lives of the veterans and falling heroes.
Mr. Oladipo who reminded the state government of some of the challenges facing the Legion appealed to Nigerians to donate generously to make life meaningful for the families of the fallen heroes.
The programme climaxed with the decoration of some personalities with the 2025 Armed forces remembrance day emblem.
