Federal Government says the 59.4 Billion Naira Greater Dutse water supply project will be completed within two years.
Minister of water resources and sanitation, Professor Joseph Utsev stated this at the flag off ceremony at Sintilmawa village in Ringim local government area of Jigawa State.
Professor Utsev said the project will be completed within twenty four months and will provide ten million liters of water.
According to him, the project include construction of a ten thousand meters based concrete reservoir and housing quarters.
He said the water project is aimed at providing adequate and clean water to the residents of Dutse, the State capital.
In his remarks, Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi commended the high level commitment of the federal government in fulfilling the promise made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his campaign visit to the late Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Nuhu Mohammadu Sanusi in 2023.
Namadi pointed out that, the project is expected to bring significant development to the state noting that the Great Dutse water supply project would put an end to the perennial water scarcity that has been incessant to the residents of Dutse and environs.
In his speech, the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Hameem Nuhu Muhammadu Sanusi pledged the Emirate support in all it capacity to make sure the Project move well as expected.
“How I wish my late father, Nuhu Muhammadu Sanusi was alive to witness the actualization of this project which was his long term dream”.
The project which was conceived twenty four years ago, is being actualized by the present administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has funded the project to provide basic necessities of life to the people of Jigawa State.
