A Public Affairs commentator, Livy-Elcon Emereonye, has described renowned pharmacist and entrepreneur, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, as a living legend whose contributions to pharmacy, entrepreneurship, corporate leadership and national development have transcended generations.
Emereonye in a congratulatory message in Abuja, marking Ohuabunwa’s birthday, describes him as a professional giant, trailblazer, entrepreneur, industrialist, boardroom leader and statesman.
According to him, Ohuabunwa’s career demonstrates how professional knowledge can be transformed into entrepreneurship, wealth creation and broader economic value, particularly through his contributions to the pharmaceutical industry.
The statement says Ohuabunwa had helped expand the frontiers of pharmacy in Nigeria by demonstrating that pharmacists could successfully move beyond conventional practice into manufacturing, business, corporate leadership and national development.
It describes Ohuabunwa as one of Nigeria’s foremost pharmapreneurs, noting that his entrepreneurial journey had inspired professionals to see their education as a platform for innovation and enterprise rather than a limitation.
The statement stresses that Ohuabunwa’s contribution to pharmacy entrepreneurship had provided younger professionals with a practical example of how knowledge, courage, discipline and vision could be combined to create opportunities for others.
It also commends Ohuabunabunwa’s decision to participate in national politics and contest for the presidency, describing it as an expression of civic courage and commitment to finding solutions to Nigeria’s challenges.
According to the statement Emereonye states that Ohuabunwa demonstrated that true leadership involved not only identifying the problems confronting a country but also offering oneself for the responsibility of finding solutions.
It notes that Ohuabunwa’s numerous professional and national honours, including FPSN, FPCPharm, FNAPharm, MON, OFR and NPOM, reflected his contributions to the pharmacy profession, business and national development.
It describes Ohuabunwa as a fine gentleman, pragmatic leader, mentor and elder whose wealth of experience had continued to provide guidance and inspiration to younger professionals and entrepreneurs.
The statement adds that Ohuabunwa’s life had shown that a pharmacist could become an industrialist, an entrepreneur could become a corporate leader, and a successful businessman could contribute meaningfully to national discourse and public service.
It therefore describes the celebrant as a man of many dimensions whose influence extends from the pharmacy profession to business, leadership, mentorship and national development.
The statement congratulates Ohuabunwa on his birthday and wished him continued good health, wisdom, peace, grace and many more years of fruitful service, praying that his contributions would continue to inspire generations.
