The National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Prof. Sadiq Gombe, has described the party’s pioneer National Chairman, Oba Samuel Oluyemi Falae, as a respected elder statesman whose years of public service remain significant to Nigeria as he clocks 88.
This is contained in a birthday message issued by him on behalf of the National Working Committee (NWC) and the entire SDP family in Abuja.
The statement describes the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, as a patriot, renowned technocrat and accomplished public servant who had made remarkable contributions to the country.
According to him, Falae’s record of service in both the public and private sectors remains a source of inspiration to Nigerians, particularly younger generations.
The statement also acknowledges Falae’s contribution to national dialogue as a delegate and leader of Afenifere at the 2014 National Conference.
It notes that Falae provided distinguished leadership to the SDP as its National Leader until he retired from active politics in February 2019.
According to the statement, the party remains proud of Falae’s contributions to Nigeria’s political development and his commitment to public service.
It congratulates the traditional ruler on his 88th birthday and prayed for continued good health, peace and fulfilment, while praying that Falae’s legacy of service and his contributions to national development will continue to inspire future generations.
