The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has announced the schedule for its upcoming non-elective congresses and special convention ahead of the 2027 general elections.
This is contained in a signed by Chairman of State Chairmen, Kingsley Ogga, on behalf of the NEC, in Abuja.
The statement says the ward and Local Government Area (LGA) non-elective congress will hold on Thursday, May 7, 2026, followed by the state congress on Friday, May 8, 2026.
According to the statement, the party also fixes its special convention and presidential primary for Sunday, May 24, 2026.
It states that all congresses and the convention must be conducted strictly through its recognised and lawful structures, in line with the party’s constitution, the Electoral Act, and a recent judgment of the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The statement warns members, aspirants, and stakeholders against participating in any parallel processes organised by unauthorised groups, including caretaker committees or factional leadership.
It stresses that any such activities would be considered null, void, and without legal effect.
It further clarifies that only delegates, nominations, and outcomes emerging from NEC-approved processes will be recognised as valid and binding for the 2027 general elections.
