Former National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party, Shehu Musa Gabam, has praised the Nigerian judiciary for upholding the rule of law and restoring him to office through a court-backed judgment.
This is contained in a statement signed by him in Abuja.
The statement describes the decision as a victory for justice, democracy, and constitutional order, saying the courts once again proved to be the last hope of the common man.
It commends the courage, independence, and integrity of the judiciary in delivering judgment without fear or favour, noting that the verdict had reinforced confidence in Nigeria’s democratic institutions.
The statement also appreciates the Independent National Electoral Commission for complying with the court ruling and formally recognising him as the lawful National Chairman of the SDP.
According to the statement, the development has brought clarity and stability to the party after a period of leadership uncertainty.
It further thanks party members across the country for their patience, loyalty, and steadfastness throughout the crisis, saying their commitment helped preserve the unity of the party.
The statement calls on all members and stakeholders of the SDP to close ranks, support the legally recognised leadership, and work together to strengthen the party ahead of future political engagements.
