The Labour Party says it is witnessing a significant increase in the number of aspirants purchasing nomination forms for various elective positions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Several political aspirants visited the Labour Party National Secretariat to obtain nomination forms for senatorial, House of Representatives, and State Assembly seats across the country.
Among those who purchased forms were former First Lady of Ondo State, Mrs. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, who is contesting for the Imo East Senatorial District seat, Hassan Mamman Barguwa for Gombi/Hong Federal Constituency in Adamawa State and Dennis Chibuzor Oshai for Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in Delta State.
Others include Eric Edward, seeking election into the Adamawa State House of Assembly for Hong Constituency, and Mohammed Hayatu Atiku, contesting for Uba/Gaya State Constituency in Adamawa State.
Speaking after obtaining his nomination form, Hassan Mamman Barguwa described the process as smooth and well-organised, commending the party’s arrangements and expressing confidence in its growing support base, particularly in Adamawa State and the North East.
The National Publicity Secretary of the party Ken Eluma Asogwa said the exercise eill continues at its national secretariat, with dozens of aspirants still processing and purchasing nomination forms as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify.
