The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, has announced the commencement of the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for aspirants seeking to contest the 2027 general elections on the party’s platform.
This is contained in a statement jointly signed
by the party’s National Chairman, Moses Cleopas Zuwoghe, and Secretary, Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu in Abuja.
The statement says the sale of Expression of Interest Forms will run from May 13 to May 18, 2026, while screening of aspirants is scheduled for May 19 to May 21.
According to the timetable, the sale of Nomination Forms will hold from May 21 to May 23, while submission of completed forms closes on May 25.
The party also fixed May 27 and 28 for its primary elections, while the Presidential Primary Election will hold on May 29 in Abuja.
The statement explains that aspirants for State Houses of Assembly will be screened in their respective states, while National Assembly and presidential aspirants will be screened at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.
It adds that governorship primaries will be conducted at the local government level and that the party will adopt the “open secret ballot” system for all primaries.
According to the statement under the approved fees, presidential aspirants are to pay N20 million for the Expression of Interest Form and N40 million for the Nomination Form, while governorship aspirants will pay N10 million and N20 million respectively.
It states that Senate aspirants are expected to pay N3 million and N5 million, House of Representatives aspirants N2 million and N4 million, while State Assembly aspirants will pay N1 million and N1.5 million respectively.
The party also announced discounts for female aspirants and persons living with disabilities, stating that women will pay 50 per cent of the fees, while PWDs will pay 25 per cent across all categories.
