The Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has taken into custody Hussaini Shuaibu, also known as “Abati,” over allegations of defiling five minors in Lafia, the state capital.
Commandant Brah Samson Umoru, briefing journalists through the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Jerry Victor, said the suspect was apprehended following complaints from one of the victims’ parents.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the offences occurred at different times and locations, with the victims aged between five and ten years.
The NSCDC Commandant condemned the act as criminal, inhuman, and a grave violation of children’s rights.

He called on parents to remain vigilant and monitor their children closely, assuring that justice will be pursued to serve as a deterrent to others.
The suspect, in his early twenties, confessed to the offences and appealed for leniency.
Medical examinations of the five minors at the Police Clinic in Lafia confirmed the assaults.
Hussaini Shuaibu is expected to be formally charged to court for prosecution upon completion of the investigation, reflecting the government’s policy stance on safeguarding children and enforcing strict legal consequences for sexual offences.
