Delta State Police Command has activated a comprehensive, intelligence-led security framework for the 2026 computer-based Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, scheduled to hold from Thursday, April 16 to Saturday, April 25, 2026, with operatives strategically deployed to all the 31 accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across the State for a secure and hitch-free exercise conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
This was contained in a statement signed by the police public relations officer for Delta State Command, Bright Edafe, copies of which were made available to journalists in Warri on Wednesday.
The statement noted that the State Commissioner of Police, Yemi Oyeniyi, “has directed all Area Commanders whose jurisdictions host CBT centres to assume full responsibility for security at the centres.”
According to the statement, the Area Commanders are to “ensure strict supervision of personnel, sustained visibility policing, rapid response capability, and close coordination with Divisional Police Officers, Tactical Commanders, and examination officials, with particular focus on intelligence gathering and the protection of ICT infrastructure against any attempt to compromise the integrity of the examination.”The command reiterated that examination malpractice, impersonation, or any form of disorderly conduct will not be tolerated, and offenders will be promptly arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law, while candidates are advised to comply with all guidelines, conduct themselves responsibly, and arrive early at their centres.
The commissioner of police reassured residents of the command’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property, and called on members of the public to remain vigilant and support security agencies with credible and timely information.
