The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, has received a major boost toward completing its Ultramodern Congress Hall project following the donation of 600 bags of cement by indigenous company Bespoke Urban Luxury Limited.
The first batch of 300 bags was handed over at a brief ceremony in Abuja, supervised by Arc Junias John Akaito and Kolade Oluwajuwkn Olaoye.
NUJ FCT Council Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike, commended the donor, Dr. Christian Olatunji, for supporting the media community and investing in infrastructure that will enhance professional development, training, and welfare coordination for journalists.
She emphasized that the Congress Hall will serve as a hub for innovation, engagement, and capacity building within the journalism profession.
Representatives of Bespoke Urban Luxury Limited noted that the donation reflects the company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and recognition of the media’s vital role in national development and democratic consolidation.
Members of the NUJ FCT Council described the gesture as exemplary and called on other corporate organisations and well-meaning individuals to emulate the support.
Upon completion, the Ultramodern Congress Hall is expected to provide offices, training facilities, and modern amenities to significantly enhance journalism practice in the Federal Capital Territory.
The Council reiterated its appeal for continued partnerships from government and private stakeholders to ensure timely completion of the landmark project.
