The Rivers State House of Assembly has unveiled nine commissioner nominees forwarded by Governor Siminalayi Fubara for screening and confirmation into the State Executive Council.
The list was read during plenary by the Clerk of the House, Emeka Amadi, who directed the nominees to submit 40 copies of their curriculum vitae, credentials and evidence of tax compliance ahead of the screening exercise.
The nominees include Professor Datonye Alasia, Mr. Tonye Bellgam, Professor Temple Nwofor, Dr. Peters Nwagor, Mrs. Charity Deemua, Tamuno Williams (Esq.), Mr. Lekue Kenneth, Otonye T.K.D. Amachree (Esq.) and Sir Amairigha Edward Hart.
The appointments follow the dissolution of the State Executive Council by Governor Fubara last month amid the political crisis between him and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
The fresh nominations are seen as part of efforts to reconstitute the executive arm and restore administrative stability in the state after the intervention of President Bola Tinubu to ease political tensions.
