In Kwara State, two site engineers and five other construction workers abducted weeks ago have been released unharmed.
The victims, kidnapped at Owa Onire in Ifelodun Local Government Area, regained freedom following sustained efforts by the state government and security agencies.
Commissioner for Works, Mr. Abduquawiy Olododo, praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s leadership and called for intensified measures to combat banditry and terrorism.
Meanwhile, insecurity in Koro community, Ekiti Local Government Area, forced approximately 1,000 residents to flee their homes for Ilorin after a terrorist attack last Sunday.
The incident, which involved gunfire between suspected terrorists and forest guards, left one person dead and prompted mass displacement.
Many residents are seeking refuge with relatives and friends, expressing fear and trauma.
The displaced community members are appealing to state and federal authorities for urgent interventions to restore security and prevent further attacks.
The developments underscore the persistent threat of terrorism and the urgent need for proactive security measures in affected regions.
