Sky Bet Championship club Millwall have blocked Femi Azeez from joining the Super Eagles squad for upcoming international friendlies against Poland and Portugal, Prompt News Online reports.
Azeez was called up as a replacement for Samuel Chukwueze following his impressive displays at the Unity Cup invitational tournament.
The winger enjoyed a dream debut for Nigeria, scoring twice in the Super Eagles’ victory over the Warriors of Zimbabwe.
According to reports, Millwall’s decision is linked to growing transfer interest in the 24-year-old.
The Lions recently rejected a €20 million bid from newly-promoted Premier League side Ipswich Town for the former Watford player.
Premier League clubs Bournemouth and Brighton & Hove Albion have also been credited with an interest in Azeez.
